I started working in furniture through my visits to auctions and finally making a purchase - an oak desk with single pedestal where the top was loose and the top frame of the knee hole was missing.
An easy repair giving me a great desk for £50.
The top was easy to re-attach but only after I manufactured a bridging piece for the knee hole and stained it with Van Dyke stain to match the rest of the desk.
I also cleared out a cheap after thought of a shelf from the cupboard - definitely not constructed to the same standard as the rest of the desk. This made room for my computer base station, but as you can see no longer used for my computer.
